Inspiration

Our inspiration for creating Cricket Clash came from a desire to build a sports game that captures the authentic excitement of cricket while offering players unparalleled customization. We wanted to design a game where every shot, every pitch, and every team is unique, allowing users to share their achievements and celebrate their victories in meaningful ways. By integrating blockchain technology, we offer players a sense of ownership and the ability to be rewarded for their successes, creating a truly engaging and interactive cricket experience.

What it does

How we built it

We broke the concept down to it’s basics of what people want from a cricket game. From there on we devised a plan to break down elements of gameplay into chunks that can take advantage of blockchain technology. We looked into TRON chain initially but the increasing transaction cost made us reconsider BTTC. After breaking down core elements into contract logics we started integrating those elements into the base game. For the in-game currency we opted for a familiar pattern by using user earned score to back our RUNZ currency. We rely on custodial wallet to make the gameplay onboarding easier for Web2 users and to phase them into Web3 gradually by providing features such as Withdraw NFT.

Challenges we ran into

We faced various challenges regarding the game logic, breaking parts of game to effectively incorporate blockchain while keeping it interactive and engaging for users. We didn’t want to take away from the essence of a cricket game but finding the right balance between blockchain and onboarding new users was very difficult to figure out.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are really proud of the user feedback we got from the initially testing, it resonates with our vision of a need for cricket game that utilizes the perks of blockchain, allow sharing progression via NFTs and earn while playing a highly engaging game.
