Inspiration

Despite the audio industry being so large, only a fraction of the revenue goes to artists and creators, and these artists and creators cannot control the distribution of their audio creations.

What it does

Zipp encourages artists the freedom to create and distribute while monetizing on their audio content. The diversity of middlemen and the lack of value added to creators and users make simplification of the present audio industry inevitable.

How we built it

Zipp is built on top of the Metaplex framework. Using ReactJs and various libraries Zipp delivers intuitive experiences for creators and collectors. Zipp also leverages the power of HTML5 audio to deliver an in-browser audio listening experience. We moved away from antd and used ChakraUI component library to create the frontend.

Challenges we ran into

Though the Metaplex framework is an extensive tool that provides many resources for the development of an NFT storefront, it was a challenge to ensure all of the work is compliant with all of the protocols and standards.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Zipp has streamlined the audio NFT minting, selling, and bidding processes to a level that is not intimidating to a beginner.

What we learned

NFTs are exciting because they will allow anyone to issue, own and trade them. This is why NFTs will be much more efficient and powerful than traditional platforms. This technology will eventually find a path to applications in the real world and Zipp is here to make this a reality

What's next for Zipp - Audio NFT Platform

The advent of NFTs is creating opportunities for new approaches that didn’t exist before, and Zipp is bullish on the fact that audio NFTs will be something for the future. NFTs signify a revolution, and audio NFTs will perk the ears of creators, collectors, curators and alternative investors.
