Inspiration
Every year, millions of students face the classic entry level catch - "You need experience to get a job, but you need a job to get experience." My inspiration comes from my own process of trying to get an internship and the struggles I faced. The main reason I created this website to help give students a clear path to turn classroom theory into proof of work that employers actually care about, regardless of their degree branch.
What it does
- Extracts key theoretical concepts directly from uploaded PDF syllabus documents.
- Runs a 10-question questionnaire to discover student interests and target roles.
- Highlights critical missing industry skills and gives an action plan.
- Automatically generates pre-filtered, direct search portals for entry-level roles on LinkedIn and Google.
- Offers a 4-phase preparation tracker stored locally in the browser to track progress.
How we built it
- Built as a single page web app with a cyberpunk aesthetic using HTML5 with the use of AI(specifically Google Gemini) to figure out some of the code elements and formatting.
- Hosting the website using Github Pages.
Challenges we ran into
- Transforming generic career advice into concrete, 4-step action plans.
- Figuring out how to use Github pages and host the website properly.
- Make sure the aesthetics are mantained alongside the clear and accessible.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Built a fully functional, highly responsive tool that runs entirely in the user's browser.
- Enabled students from non-tech backgrounds to map their transferable strengths into tech, design, or marketing internships.
- Instant response and immediate action made possible
What we learned
- Having a no sign up wall greatly reduces friction for job-seeking students.
- Employers hiring freshers hands on experience far more than degrees or course certificates.
What's next for Zint (Internship Analyser)
- Provide project opportunities upfront on the website to cover the skill gap.
- Add a feature the incorporates the accomplished skills and projects in a resume ready template.
- Also add a feature that can analyse resume and recommend necessary alterations.
