Inspiration

ZimaHealth was inspired by the challenges many people in Zimbabwe face when trying to access healthcare. Long waiting times, limited access to doctors, and lack of reliable health information made me realize there was a need for a simple digital solution. I wanted to create something that could bring healthcare closer to people using technology they already have — their phones.

What it does

ZimaHealth is a digital platform designed to make healthcare more accessible and convenient. It allows users to:

Find and connect with healthcare providers Book medical appointments Access basic health information anytime (Future) Consult with doctors remotely

How we built it

We built ZimaHealth step by step, starting with a clear goal: simplify healthcare access in Zimbabwe.

Planning: Identified key problems people face when seeking healthcare Design: Created a simple, mobile-friendly interface Development: Used basic programming tools and concepts to build core features Iteration: Continuously improved the idea as we learned more

We focused on keeping things lightweight and easy to use, even on low-end devices.

Challenges we ran into

Limited resources: Access to tools, data, and testing environments was restricted Learning curve: Building while still learning new technical skills User needs: Understanding what features are truly essential Connectivity issues: Designing something that works in areas with poor internet
