Inspiration

You spot a look you love online. But the real question is: How will it look on me? A product photo can’t answer that, and choosing can start to feel like a gamble.

We built Ziel " Mirror Moment" to bring the fitting room closer. It helps people explore a style on their own photo and decide what feels like them.

What it does

Ziel brings ten fashion and beauty try-on studios together: clothing, hair, shoes, bags, makeup, eye colour, nails, earrings, rings, and necklaces. You can start with a sample or upload your own image, preview a style, and save looks you want to revisit.

The Full Look Studio lets you choose several style categories and open their matching try-on studios from one plan, making it easier to explore a head-to-toe idea.

How we built it

We built Ziel with Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. YouCam APIs power the virtual try-on experiences, while browser-based clothing isolation prepares garment images for the clothing studio. We designed the app around clear steps, sample choices, and saved looks so people can explore without needing to figure out a complicated workflow.

Challenges we ran into

Virtual try-on depends on the reference image and personal photo showing compatible areas. When those don’t match, the result can fail. We added garment-coverage choices, clearer photo-framing guidance, and more appropriate sample images to help people choose inputs that work together.

Accomplishments that we’re proud of

We brought ten different try-on experiences into one styling app and created a Full Look planning flow that makes it easy to explore more than one category. We’re proud that the experience gives people a practical way to experiment with personal style before settling on a look.

What we learned

AI styling is only part of the experience. The examples, photo guidance, and steps around it matter too. Helping people understand what to upload, and what they can try next, can make the experience feel more useful and personal.

What’s next for Ziel

We want to make it possible to combine selected pieces into one complete, coordinated preview, improve the sample library, and keep refining the experience with feedback from people using it.
