Inspiration

The inspiration for Black Myth: Zhong Kui comes from the rich Chinese folk mythology. Zhong Kui, a well-known figure in Chinese folklore, is often regarded as the "Demon Queller". His unique image and the story of fighting against demons and evil spirits provide a lot of creative materials for the game. The success of the previous work Black Myth: Wukong also gives the development team confidence and motivation to create a new game in the "Black Myth" series, hoping to bring new experiences and surprises to players.

What it does

Black Myth: Zhong Kui is a stand-alone action role-playing game. In the game, players will play as Zhong Kui, using his powerful ghost-slaying skills and various supernatural abilities to fight against a variety of demons and evil spirits. The game will present a rich and wonderful game world, with exciting combat scenes, complex levels, and an intriguing story line, allowing players to immerse themselves in the adventure of钟馗's demon-slaying.

How I built it

At present, the specific development process of Black Myth: Zhong Kui has not been fully disclosed. But it can be inferred that the development team will first conduct in-depth research on Zhong Kui's image, story, and related cultural background. Then, use modern game development technology, such as 3D modeling, game engine programming, etc., to build the game world, character models, and combat systems. Challenges I ran into

At the same time, the related词条 quickly topped the Bilibili hot search list, and the Weibo platform's related topic reading volume was also above 22 million. This shows that the game has received widespread attention and recognition from the global gaming community, which is undoubtedly a very proud achievement for the development team.

What I learned

From the current situation, the development team may have learned the importance of in-depth mining of cultural IP in the process of developing Black Myth: Zhong Kui. By deeply exploring the cultural connotation and story background of Zhong Kui, the game can have a unique charm and attraction. At the same time, the team may also realize the importance of innovation and continuous improvement. Although Black Myth: Wukong has achieved great success, the team still chooses to challenge themselves and create a new game with new heroes, new gameplay, new visuals, new technologies, and new stories. This spirit of innovation and the courage to challenge are important factors for the long-term development of the game.
