what inspired us
Idea to create zHelp project was generated as a result of life experience and deep compassion to minority who suffer from this disease. My grandma suffered from Alzheimer's disease since I was born till the end of her sadly limited life because of being ill. For me, gramdma’s behaviour was normal when I was little and I thought that all elderly people are like her but then when I saw other old people who behaved in a different way - really normally, I was quite confused and that made me realise that my grandma is ill. It was really hard for me to look at her because I understood that she cannot live the life she could live like many other happy elderly people. That is the experience that makes me have deep compassion to people suffering from dimension and strong desire to help them. That’s why I offered my teammates to create the app that will help to prevent people from this disease and help people suffering from it at the moment live with that disease.
how we built it
We built our project in app inventor since we all have a core understanding of how it is working and it is pretty convenient in usage. Even though we distributed our roles we tried to help each other and by this way we think that we achieved a very effective working time. Our team really had a great time within those 40 hours as it was fulfilled with fun, tiring and confusing moments.There are some reasons why we have created our interface on Russian language. The first is that so that we could immediately implement such novelty application in the use of the CIS countries where we live. The second is that applications made on the topic of dementia are rarity in Russian language rather than English ones.
What challenges did we face?
Initially, the problem was in implementing of intended interface design of app due to lack of skills and experience in coding. Unfortunately therefore, we could not insert some functions such as Face ID, 3-type accounting (patient, caregiver, doctor) and etc., which would be more practical.
What have we learnt?
We have learnt to create a good app on app-inventor. Also, we improved our skills in designing in Figma. Moreover, we extended our knowledge in the topic of Alzheimer’s disease. We get to know what it is, what can cause it, what symptoms does ill people have and what treatment can be implemented and on the basis of this information we created our project.
