Inspiration
We were inspired by the growing problem of packaging waste caused by online shopping. Our goal was to create a platform that promotes sustainable shopping habits and connects people with eco-friendly alternatives.
What it does
Zero Waste Mart is an eco-conscious e-commerce platform that helps users find and purchase verified zero-waste, reusable, and recyclable products — making sustainable living easy and accessible.
How we built it
We built the platform using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend, and a simple backend for managing vendors and products. The design focuses on simplicity, clean UI, and an eco-themed color palette.
Challenges
Our main challenges were verifying product authenticity, designing an engaging user interface, and managing sustainable product data efficiently.
Learnings & Future Plans
We learned how technology can drive environmental awareness and how teamwork improves innovation. Next, we plan to integrate AI-based sustainability ratings and a carbon footprint tracker to help users make more conscious buying decisions.
