Inspiration

I had a surgery a couple of months ago, and the alarm clock that Apple provides is great, but frustrated me in some cases. I couldn't add multiple schedule for the same medication, and had to create multiple different alarms for my medication. It made it hard for me to track it. Also, I like to have alarms for my meetings to make sure I don't miss them, and I completely missed a meeting before it was moved, and I didn't update my alarm. Hence why I built ZeroMiss in an attempt to allow people to group alarms, have multiple schedules per alarm and automatic Calendar Sync for alarms.

What it does

How we built it

I built it using React-Native. Although there were some vibe coding, a lot of it I had to hand build to make sure it works as I expect it to work.

Challenges we ran into

Working on beta Xcode didn't allow me to submit the app for Testflight. I had to wait until mid September to be able to test it properly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I built the app in 2 weeks!!! And learned about React-Native Native Modules and how to bridge Obj-C with Swift etc. I also learned the complete process to hooking RevenueCat into the app, and releasing the app with a subscription, which I failed at doing the first time I submitted the app.

What we learned

It's hard to build against a beta API, given we started building before IOS 26 was out. It's hard because for a new app, I could NOT submit to TestFlight, so I couldn't have anybody else test it. Lots of bugs after launch, that I needed to fix quickly!

What's next for ZeroMiss

Next I'll be focusing on marketing, getting it out there, making sure people do see value in it before looking at the next features. A few features that we're planning, but won't do until validation are:

  • Alarm sound selection
  • Sharing alarms / todo with others
  • Link images to alarms, for example to know exactly which medication to take
  • Snooze / Skip / Reschedule specific alarm schedules
  • iCloud sync
  • Alarm summary for the day
