Inspiration: We wanted to eliminate the administrative nightmare of college events, specifically the chaos of manual check-in queues and the exhaustion of generating post-event certificates.
What it does: ZeroInteract is a zero-touch platform that fully automates Google SSO registration, live QR code check-ins, and post-event PDF certificate generation without human intervention.
How we built it: We utilized a strictly decoupled multi-repo architecture, pairing a React/Vite/Tailwind frontend with a Node.js/Express backend, and PostgreSQL with Prisma for data integrity.
Challenges we ran into: Our biggest hurdles were engineering a dynamic, token-backed QR system to prevent screenshot spoofing and syncing background workers for time-triggered PDF generation.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: We successfully shipped a fully automated, full-stack MVP with a production-ready security layer and zero git merge conflicts across a four-person team within 48 hours.
What we learned: We learned that establishing a strict API blueprint and delegation matrix before writing any code is the absolute key to surviving fast-paced, multi-repo team development.
What's next for ZeroInteract: We plan to deploy to a live production cloud for stress-testing and leverage our decoupled REST API to build a native mobile companion app using Flutter or React Native.
