Inspiration

Saving the environment is truly a subject that is close to our hearts. we only have one earth. so this hackathon was kind of a mission to increase the awareness and spread the information we collected throughout our lives.

What it does

We created a tips widget, every day there is a new amazing tip.

How we built it

We used Deno & Fresh to build a server, Mongo to store the tips. We didn’t want to overengineer our project, so Deno’s new framework was the best solution. Core functionality is extendable and by choosing MongoDB as a storage, wе free ourselves from migrations and other fuss. Everything is stored on personal server with https certificates.

Challenges we ran into

First we wanted to do a lot of things: adding a translation by the user country, give the users the option to add the translation for their language. also we wanted to remember the tips the user already seen and give them a rank by consistent and by doing weekly tasks. Maybe even give them a Monday 10$ voucher if they will be consistent and see everyday or a two a tip for X period of time and also doing the weekly tasks. (with the slogan "money is also green!" or something in this style)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We found a time to meet and finish this project even though we live far from each other. Also the cooperation between us was amazing, we didn't know each other before or each other's skills and we where a perfect match for this.
