Inspiration

"Growing up, money was something we didn't talk about at home. It was either there or it wasn't, but the 'how' and 'why' remained a mystery." "In my twenties, I stumbled into financial YouTube channels at 2 AM, desperate to understand why I felt so lost with money. Then came mentors who saw potential in a financially clueless young man and threw me lifelines of wisdom." "But as I climbed out of financial chaos, a heartbreaking truth hit me: I was the lucky one. I accidentally found those channels. I happened to meet those mentors. I stumbled into knowledge that should be everyone's birthright." "How many of my friends were still lying awake at night, paralyzed by money anxiety? How many brilliant minds were being wasted because no one ever taught them that they could master this?" "I couldn't clone my mentors or force every family to have money conversations. But I could build something that gives every person what saved me - a patient guide out of financial darkness." "This app breaks generational cycles. It ensures that zip codes and family circumstances don't dictate financial futures. Because financial literacy shouldn't be an accident - it should be a guarantee."

What it does

The App does what it says, it takes users from zero financial knowledge to one, helps users to stay on track with their budgets, and encourages them throughout their journey.

How we built it

We built the App using Bolt. New, we used Claude.AI and ChatGPT for Ideation and to enhance our prompts for Bolt.

Challenges we ran into

Some features were hard to build

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're pleased that we managed to pull off the African-inspired UI

What we learned

Building requires patience; don't try to make leaps, but take it one step at a time.

What's next for Zero-to-one-finance

The next step is to go out into the market and to build some integrations to make our App smarter, and improve it's capabilities.
