Zero Chaos

Inspiration

Modern productivity apps are great at storing tasks, but they often leave users with another problem—figuring out what to do next. Long to-do lists become overwhelming, plans become unrealistic, and one unexpected interruption can throw an entire day off track. I wanted to build an AI productivity coach instead of another task manager. Zero Chaos transforms a messy brain dump into a realistic, personalized daily plan that considers workload, available time, deadlines, recurring habits, and changing circumstances. Instead of forcing users to manually organize everything, the AI continuously helps them focus on the next meaningful action. To make productivity feel less stressful, I paired the experience with a cozy alchemy-inspired theme where focus sessions become calming brewing experiences rather than repetitive timers.

What it does

Zero Chaos helps users plan, adapt, and stay focused throughout the day. Key features include:

  • 🧠 AI Brain Dump that converts messy thoughts into organized tasks
  • 📅 Intelligent daily scheduling based on available time and priorities
  • 🔄 Adaptive replanning whenever the user's day changes
  • ✅ Daily habit management
  • ☕ Focus Brewing sessions with customizable timers
  • 🌙 Night Reflection to help improve future planning
  • 📖 Chronicle Memories that preserve meaningful milestones and achievements
  • 🎯 Clear next-action guidance instead of overwhelming task lists Rather than behaving like a calendar, Zero Chaos acts as an AI coach that continuously helps users make realistic progress.

How I built it

The project combines modern web technologies with AI.

  • React
  • TypeScript
  • Vite
  • Node.js
  • Express
  • Google AI Studio (Gemini)
  • GitHub
  • OpenAI Codex for development assistance and code review Gemini powers task understanding, planning, prioritization, scheduling, and adaptive coaching, while Codex was used during development to review the codebase, suggest improvements, and refine implementation.

Challenges ran into

Designing an intelligent planner was significantly harder than building a traditional to-do list. Some of MY biggest challenges included:

  • Turning unstructured brain dumps into actionable plans
  • Creating realistic schedules without overwhelming users
  • Designing adaptive planning when the user's day changes unexpectedly
  • Balancing productivity with a calm, enjoyable experience
  • Keeping the interface simple while adding powerful AI capabilities Finding the right balance between automation and user control required many iterations.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud that Zero Chaos evolved into much more than an AI task organizer. It became an AI productivity coach capable of:

  • Understanding workload
  • Prioritizing intelligently
  • Adapting to interruptions
  • Encouraging consistent focus
  • Providing a calming productivity experience

I'm especially proud of combining adaptive AI planning with a cozy alchemy-inspired design that makes productivity feel less overwhelming.

What I learned

This project taught me that great productivity software isn't about adding more features—it's about reducing cognitive load. I also learned how important thoughtful AI interaction is. Rather than replacing users, the AI works alongside them by making realistic decisions while keeping them in control.

What's next for Zero Chaos

Future plans include:

  • Calendar integration
  • Cross-device synchronization
  • Smarter long-term learning of user routines
  • Team collaboration
  • Rich productivity analytics
  • Wearable and mobile support
  • More personalized AI coaching over time
