Download ZenVibe for Android

We created the ZenVibe mobile meditation application so that it could be used by people of all ages and provide tailored health information that allows users to learn to meditate in a way that engages all five of their senses - empowering them to lead a less stressful, healthier lifestyle.

Stress can derail even our most basic efforts to achieve wellness and has been shown to effect people's physical, behavioral, social, and emotional health - so we wanted to create a mobile application that makes preventing heightened stress and managing stress not only easy, but fun.

ZenVibe takes an evidence-based and data-driven approach to combating the occurrence, side effects and illnesses caused by stress. The stress management, meditation, relaxation and mind-body techniques used in the development of ZenVibe have been applied by Dr. Steven Eisenberg for two decades in his practice and are supported by thousands of studies and articles from leading peer-reviewed medical journals. Please reference the attachment for a detailed description of our research and the abstracts for over 50 articles for our users and their physicians.

ZenVibe is now available in the Android marketplace and will be ready for the iPhone beginning early 2012.

Engage Your Senses and Rejuvenate Your Wellness

ZenVibe is the first mobile application of its kind, specifically designed engage all five of your senses for a holistic, stress melting experience, that will advance your health and wellness with each and every use.

Utilizing proven meditation methods - including custom relaxation music, ZenVibe Mantras and vibrational massage - ZenVibe users will be given a tailored stress relieving experience that directly combats the symptoms and illnesses caused by stress. Both mental and physical, the effects of stress have been linked to almost every major health problem including anxiety, depression, hypertension, insomnia and infertility. Studies have also shown stress to exacerbate the side effects of diabetes, cancer and other illnesses.

Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime

ZenVibe is designed so that whether you are a beginner or an expert in the art of meditation, you can experience the benefits of taking time to de-stress utilizing just your phone and quiet place - whether at home, work or school. The meditation experience can also be tailored to your beliefs or religious preferences by replacing the ZenVibe Mantra with a short prayer or positive word of affirmation of your own. ZenVibe guides your process without confining you, giving every person the ability to 100% customize their experience.

Combating the Silent Killer

Stress can evoke a response known as "fight-or-flight". This response has many physiological effects on your body, increasing your heart rate, blood pressure and metabolism all in an effort to get your body ready to run away or fight. Often, we are stressed about personal or financial problems, work, school, family and friends, and lack a release for the adrenaline that is coursing through our body. That build up of stress has been linked to anxiety, depression, hypertension, insomnia, infertility, ulcers and more.

A certain amount of stress is good for productivity, but there is a point where it quickly becomes negative and deteriorating to both your performance and health.

What can we do to remain balanced, focused, energized and healthy?

The fundamentals of relaxation are cross-cultural and supported by almost every physician and belief system. Generally, meditation involves sitting quietly, closing your eyes, breathing slowly and deeply, while repeating a word or phrase.

Personal ZenVibe Sessions

When you tap on the ZenVibe application logo, you will be given a choice of the "Cool Zenvibe" and "Chill ZenVibe" experience. Each room has similar functions, but a different aesthetic appeal. Within the main meditation room, you have the ability to be linked to videos and articles that explain more about the effects of stress and techniques to manage it. Once you begin a new ZenVibe session by clicking the zen Z, you will be asked a series of questions about your current physical, behavioral, emotional and cognitive symptoms - or you can choose to bypass these selections to start a quick ZenVibe session for a general relaxation session.

After choosing your stress related symptoms, you will be given a ZenVibe Mantra, a type of tea, a custom ZenVibe meditation track, a relaxing photograph and areas of your head, face, shoulders and neck to stretch and massage utilizing the vibration features of your phone. The ZenVibe Mantra is a phrase to focus on during your session, blocking out all other stressors, purifying your mind so that your other senses can take over to de-stress and rejuvenate your mind, body and soul.

The ZenVibe Doc

ZenVibe was developed by triple-board certified internist and hematologist/oncologist Dr. Steven G. Eisenberg. Dr. Eisenberg has been treating stress related symptoms for over 15 years and the techniques used in ZenVibe were developed from these vast experiences with thousands of patients. As seen on the Today Show, Dr. Eisenberg is known for championing the human side of medicine. He is also the founder of EnlightenMed (enlightenmed.com), Lyrical Life (lyricallife.org) and Cansurive (cansurvive.com). You can follow him on twitter @drseisenberg and @ZenVibeDoc for ZenVibe updates.

The Science Behind Behind ZenVibe

Many, if not most visits to the primary care physician can be directly or indirectly linked to stress. The scientific literature is robust regarding the deleterious effects of stress on most common diseases and there is now considerable evidence that an array of mind-body therapies can be used as effective adjuncts to conventional medical treatment for a number of common clinical conditions. Given the emerging evidence during the past several decades suggesting that psychosocial factors can directly influence both physiologic function and health outcomes, medicine has finally begun to move beyond the biomedical model, and has started to integrate the biopsychosocial model. Astin et al. conducted the most extensive literature review to date to examine the efficacy of representative psychosocial-mind-body interventions, including relaxation, (cognitive) behavioral therapies, meditation, imagery, biofeedback, and hypnosis for several common clinical conditions. This research team undertook an electronic search of the MEDLINE, PsycLIT, and the Cochrane Library databases and a manual search of the reference sections of relevant articles for related clinical trials and reviews of the literature. Data were extracted from relevant systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and randomized controlled trials. The results speak for themselves. There was considerable evidence of efficacy for several mind-body therapies in the treatment of coronary artery disease (eg, cardiac rehabilitation), headaches, insomnia, incontinence, chronic low back pain, disease and treatment-related symptoms of cancer, and improving postsurgical outcomes. The team found moderate evidence of efficacy for mind-body therapies in the areas of hypertension and arthritis (J Am Board Fam Pract. 2003 Mar-Apr;16(2):131-47.). In addition, the NIH Technology Assessment Panel on Integration of Behavioral and Relaxation Approaches into the Treatment of Chronic Pain and Insomnia concluded that a number of well-defined behavioral and relaxation interventions now exist and are effective in the treatment of chronic pain and insomnia. The panel found strong evidence for the use of relaxation techniques in reducing chronic pain in a variety of medical conditions as well as strong evidence for the use of hypnosis in alleviating pain associated with cancer. The evidence was moderate for the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral techniques and biofeedback in relieving chronic pain. Regarding insomnia, behavioral techniques, particularly relaxation and biofeedback, produced improvements in some aspects of sleep (JAMA. 1996 Jul 24-31;276(4):313-8.). We believe the data will continue to evolve in this arena and have included a plethora of scientific abstracts from peer-reviewed journals to support the benefits of the techniques utilized in the ZenVibe application for the specific symptoms and conditions we address. We will continue to update our database as new studies emerge.
