Inspiration

Zentangle has always fascinated me — the meditative repetition, the balance of chaos and order in every line.
I wanted to see what would happen if those still forms started to breathe — if the static rhythm of ink could move to sound.

Process

Using ComfyUI’s img2vid workflow, I transformed hand-drawn Zentangle patterns into a sequence of motion loops.
Each frame was generated, stabilized, and refined through iterative passes until the motion felt organic — flowing like ink under water.
The sound design was built around that movement, syncing line pulses and shadows with rhythmic calm.

Built With

  • ComfyUI – node-based workflow system for generative video
  • img2vid workflow – motion synthesis from still imagery
  • DaVinci Resolve Studio – post-processing, timing & grading
  • Suno / m00ds audio – ambient generative soundtrack

Challenges

The biggest challenge was maintaining coherence between frames while keeping the analog texture of the original art.
Working with limited GPU memory meant optimizing node graphs and caching intermediates carefully.

Outcome

A meditative, looping visual piece — part motion experiment, part breathing drawing.
