💡 Inspiration
As students, we often neglect our health—irregular sleep, stress, and unhealthy habits become part of daily life. We wanted to build a simple yet impactful solution that helps students stay aware of their mental and physical well-being. WellNest was inspired by the need for a single platform that combines habit tracking with actionable insights.
🧠 What it does
WellNest is a smart health companion that tracks mood, sleep, and daily habits like water intake. It analyzes this data to generate a health score and provides personalized suggestions to improve overall well-being. It also includes features like a breathing exercise mode, chatbot support, and visual dashboards to help users understand their health patterns.
🛠️ How we built it
We built WellNest using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create a responsive and interactive web application. Chart.js was used for data visualization, and localStorage was used to store user data. Additional features like a rule-based chatbot, breathing exercise animations, and PDF report generation (jsPDF) were integrated to enhance functionality.
🚧 Challenges we ran into
One major challenge was integrating multiple features while maintaining a clean and intuitive UI. Ensuring all components like trackers, charts, and suggestions worked together seamlessly required careful structuring and debugging. Making the application both functional and visually appealing was also a key challenge.
🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully built a fully functional and visually appealing health dashboard that combines multiple aspects of well-being in one platform. The real-time tracking, smart suggestions, and interactive UI make WellNest both useful and engaging.
📚 What we learned
We learned how to structure a real-world web application, manage user data effectively, and design an intuitive user experience. We also gained experience integrating libraries like Chart.js and jsPDF, and debugging complex UI interactions.
🚀 What's next for WellNest
We plan to enhance WellNest by integrating AI for more personalized recommendations, adding real-time notifications, and expanding it into a mobile application. Future improvements also include deeper analytics and community-based wellness support.
