ZenLabs
Inspiration
Focus is hard. In a world filled with distractions, I needed something to help me stay locked in. ZenLabs was born out of that personal need—just a simple system to train my focus like a muscle.
What it does
ZenLabs is a lightweight focus trainer. You start a session, get into deep work, and track how long and how often you stay consistent. It’s built to reduce friction—no logins, no fluff, just a tool to help you get in the zone and stay there.
How I built it
Built using Next.js and styled with a minimalist UI. The goal was to keep it fast, mobile-friendly, and distraction-free. Everything runs in the browser and keeps you focused with simple session timers and clean visual feedback.
Thanks to Bolt for offering free resources that helped me deploy and test the project during development.
Challenges I ran into
Working solo with limited resources meant cutting a lot of features and building everything from scratch. Designing something that’s actually helpful without being annoying was also a big creative challenge.
Accomplishments I'm proud of
I built a working MVP that feels good to use. It's fast, clean, and already helping me focus better day by day. I'm proud of staying consistent and shipping something useful under tight constraints.
What I learned
Building solo teaches you to be scrappy. I learned to simplify, focus on the core problem, and ship fast. Also got better at managing UI/UX with limited components and making decisions quickly without overthinking.
