Inspiration
The inspiration behind Zenith came from our own experiences and observations at the gym. We noticed many beginners struggling with proper form, often leading to ineffective workouts or, worse, injuries. We wanted to create a solution that would democratize access to expert fitness coaching, providing everyone with the tools to achieve peak performance.
What it does
Zenith is an innovative gym form corrector application designed to enhance your workout experience. Using MediaPipe for advanced motion tracking, Zenith captures and analyzes your movements. It then uses Cohere's generative AI to provide instant, personalized feedback on your exercise form whether you’re performing squats, deadlifts, or bench press.
How we built it
We combined MediaPipe's tracking with Cohere's generative AI, integrated through OpenCV for video processing and Tkinter for the user interface. This setup allows us to analyze user movements and provide feedback seamlessly.
Challenges we ran into
It was a lengthy process to find the right generative AI for personalized feedback that involved substantial time and testing. We needed an AI that could understand and generate clear, actionable advice.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Even in the final 30 minutes before the deadline, we encountered a last-minute error. Despite the pressure, we didn't give up. Our team worked tirelessly to troubleshoot and resolve the issue, ensuring Zenith was ready for launch.
What we learned
Finding the right AI was crucial. After testing several AI models, we chose Cohere’s generative AI because it provided the most accurate and clear feedback, which is essential for user trust and satisfaction.
What's next for Zenith
Real-Time Tracking: We want to improve our real-time tracking to give immediate feedback during workouts, making the experience seamless and efficient. Main Person Focus: We’re working on advanced tracking algorithms to ensure Zenith focuses on the main person, even if they're in a crowded gym.
