Inspiration

We were inspired by the issue that a lot of content on social media can be triggering to people with PTSD or other conditions.

What it does

This is a Chrome extension that filters out keywords from text-based social media posts to block triggering content based on the user's preferences.

How we built it

We used a Chrome extension developer and used HTML and Javascript.

Challenges we ran into

We had a lot of issues with the actual functionality of our extension because we had a hard time getting it to block keywords from a body of text.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Learning how to use multiple coding languages to make a Chrome extension, and designing a logo in Photoshop!

What we learned

We learned how to integrate multiple programming languages into a Chrome extension.

What's next for Zefyr

Zefyr could be expanded to include more keywords to make social media a safer space. We can also use machine learning to predict whether a post is potentially triggering based on data from past posts.
