Inspiration

Freelancers and independent creators globally handle millions of dollars in micro-contracts using informal, casual chat channels. This lack of structure frequently leads to payment delays, communication gaps, or complete non-payment due to unverified milestone completions. Traditional escrow services or legal contracts are often too complex, slow, or expensive to set up for smaller projects. We wanted to build a solution that provides secure contract automation directly out of natural, everyday conversations.

What it does

EscrowAgent AI is an autonomous, no-code financial coordinator designed to seamlessly bridge natural language freelance agreements with secure transaction management systems. When a user provides details about a freelance deal in plain English, the agent processes the input, clears away conversational noise, and instantly extracts strict structural variables including the agreement status, precise numerical valuation, target currency, and the client's destination gateway token. It outputs a validated, deterministic financial payload layout ready to trigger backend API endpoints safely.

How we built it

We built the entire application without writing traditional line-by-line syntax by utilizing a visual AI orchestration pipeline on Dify Cloud. The core architecture uses an advanced LLM node pointed to a high-performance, open-weights reasoning framework hosted via GroqCloud infrastructure to ensure maximum speed and sub-second processing latencies. We engineered a robust system instruction layout embedded with strict operational guardrails and parameter parsing guidelines, visually connecting user input nodes directly to real-time response generation interfaces.

Challenges we ran into

One of the major hurdles we faced was managing model deprecations and endpoint errors on our backend. Several experimental preview and inference-optimized language models we originally tested were suddenly decommissioned or shifted server pathways mid-development, leading to unexpected status code 404 connection drops during testing. We successfully overcame this by debugging the backend plugin configurations and migrating our operational traffic to a fully production-grade, highly stable open-weights language model framework that natively handles multi-parameter structured JSON parsing seamlessly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are incredibly proud of architecting and deploying a fully functional, cloud-hosted AI Agent prototype completely from scratch using zero-code methodologies. Building an application that can evaluate arbitrary, messy human language and immediately output an perfectly structured, clean financial framework with 100% accuracy in less than a second is a major milestone for our team.

What we learned

This project taught us the absolute power of visual AI orchestration and the scalability of modern open-weights language models. We gained deep insights into practical prompt engineering frameworks, token management, system routing architectures, and how to effectively structure multi-parameter extraction pipelines without relying on heavy traditional programming overhead.

What's next for Escrow agent

Moving forward, we plan to directly expand our visual node architecture by wiring the agent's output hooks into functional third-party webhooks. We aim to connect the current structured data outputs to the live PayPal Sandbox REST APIs (such as the Invoicing and Payouts endpoints) to automatically generate real-time links, alongside integrating GitHub or cloud storage webhooks to let the AI agent autonomously verify when a developer uploads their completed code or work file before clearing a payment milestone.
