Inspiration

The major inspiration came from a shifting focus of developers to create LOW-CODE/NO-CODE products and services. On going through API reference guide and knowing about workflow automation tools (e.g. Zapier), it was felt that the combination of both can open up variety of automation workflows and that too with minimal coding for end-users.

What it does

Zapier Integration for Modzy will make Modzy events available as triggers and actions to integrate with 3000+ applications that are already integrated with Zapier. Modzy together with a combination all other such application may create newer and faster workflows for automation at low cost and minimal coding.If we check categories of already integrated apps on Zapier, then there is a lacking of an app that can offer MLOps and ModelOps as a service in workflow. Modzy will fill this lacking with this integration.

How we built it

Zapier offers a developers platform to build integration for newer apps to onboard them on Zapier platform. This integration was built on it. All it requires a basic understanding of APIs, JSON and Javascript.

Challenges we ran into

I had to spent a lot of time designing an authentication step. After trying few other options, I settled with an authorization using API KEY instead of basic authentication.

Another challenge was Zapier specific identifier functioning. It took some time to solve this using a bit of Javascript coding.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

With this integration, now it is possible to create lakhs of workflows with thousand of applications without any additional coding or app specific integrations. In other words, this one integration is like creating an integration for rest of other 3000+ apps. Eventually, if this integration is developed further and published, it may be among the first MLOps/ModelOps services offering apps in Zapier.

  1. Adding further triggers and actions utilizing rest of the APIs.
  2. Validating and publishing this integration on Zapier so that it can go public.
  3. Creating some imaginative ZAPs around Modzy to explore MLOps and ModelOps possibilities in workflow automation.
