Inspiration

We were inspired by the fact that farmers do not have a digital infrastructure to schedule waste pickups

What it does

It allowa farmers to schedule waste pickup and a rider picks up the waste which is processed into briquettes for sale

How we built it

We built using Africas talking, daraja API, java spring boot for backend, next js and typescript for website and flutter for mobile

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a challenge with daraja API for sandbox environment

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to build the full rider application with automatic ride scheduling and also briquettes e commerce website

What we learned

We learnt how to integrate USSD using Africas talking

What's next for ZaoCycle

We would like to build the product and scale it and launch a pilot in Kirinyaga county
