Inspiration
I've always been interested in car culture and racing growing up playing driving simulator video games like Gran Turismo on Playstation. As a fan of car culture, I decided to dive into motorsport's head first about two years ago. I first started by incorporating various aspects of racing and drifting into my every day life by watching racing live streams.
I realized, the motorsport industry really needed a great encyclopedia to document all the epic moments and champions seen in the sport.
After attending my first drifting experience in real life, I knew I had my idea!
I started to design and build the company out and created the app which later I went on to naming"Yumeauto".
The purpose was to help newbie motorsport enthusiasts find information easily about racing and motorsports and JDM car culture.
What it does
Yumeauto is an application built to share the love for JDM car culture. It's an Encyclopedia with information about drivers, driver stats and car types and even wheel types all stored in your pocket.
How we built it
We built by writing our own Swift IOS codebase in partnership with RevenueCat library. Most of the NavigationViews are custom SwiftUI code and the Paywall is also custom designed by myself. The original design was created in Adobe XD and later coded and converted to SwiftUI by myself.
Challenges we ran into
Time constraints in building a working application was a major challenge. We also needed to be considerate of the industry standards since the category and the application development process was new.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This is our first application partnering with RevenueCat which made it exciting and challenging. The application is built to grow in size and we can be proud the application has been created to continually be adapted for an industry like motorsports which we spanned a few years in the making of becoming a fan.
What we learned
I've learned "how to" setup in-app payments in partnership with RevenueCat. I've learned so much more about SwiftUI and Package Management in IOS Development.
What's next for Yumeauto
We plan to release new updates which will include more overall imagery and more driver stats to become made available to our community of users. We are grateful for all that we had accomplished and want to represent the motorsport community well in the future.
