YUdirect is an application to aware people walking in campus, and they are worried to face some unexpected danger or problem. it is inspired by Waze, which is a well-known application which alarms you about heavy traffic and accidents in the way. this application can inform people passing an area, uploaded by people facing this issue prior to others, this problem could be slippery step/floor, blocked path by snow, dark unsafe area, or any possible dangerous place. by this idea, students and people passing by, would feel safe and secured. they would be aware what might be an upcoming danger in their path. and also when they can see this information, they could either stay calm and informed, or avoid going that specific way. as a result it will reduce the number of accidents, and it's time saving for a lot of students to get to their class, especially when they are in rush. this is a regular application with IP of google map and Yorku map, but it will show the best shortcut, and most efficient way to take to get to where you want. the challenges we ran into was how to design the app to perform well and user friendly. we are proud to come up and design this idea in less than a day. the brainstorming we did was at its finest. So it's easy and quick to use. we are hoping to move forward with YUdirect and assist people to feel safe and secure so less mental issue occurs.
