Inspiration
The inspiration came from within. I myself being a student face challenges while surfing the web for academic sources and many times there are distractions.
What it does
YouthTalk puts the best of both worlds. Look at it like the video format of TikTok (more information in less time) and the academic content of YouTube and other websites! Plus, there is more to it- Offline Events because not everything Online is fun!
How I built it
I used Figma for the overall design of the platform. It does not cover everything yet but it is just for the prototype purpose.
Challenges I ran into
Fortunately, I did not run into any challenges while building this apart from college assignments and exams coming up next week because unfortunately, I learned about Equitable Elevation II fairly late and have absolutely zero time to code up the project!
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am very much proud of being able to provide an idea that carries the potential to shape the future of youth for the better and also, the designs I was able to come up with
What I learned
I learned there is more to code than design, more to a sketch than the actual prototype, and that we should be ready with reusable components to add to projects as they get complex.
What's next for YouthTalk
Considering the potential YouthTalk carries, it can further tie up with universities and schools where students can be our campus ambassadors to uplift the community!
