Inspiration
The three of us are involved in Brearley's Business and Financial Awareness club. Through our own experiences, we found the common issue of high school students not knowing where to look to find opportunities in the fields of business and finance.
What it does
Our database compiles business opportunities for high school students filtered by region for efficiency.
How we built it
We used Glitch as well as the coding languages HTML, Javascript, and CSS to build our project. We learned more about these languages on the W3Schools website.
Challenges we ran into
While coding our project, we struggled to complete our map and format our website in a way that was more aesthetically pleasing to the human eye.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of finishing our website as it was no easy task, especially as we were beginners to coding. Furthermore, we were able to create a navigation bar and learn to pad, as it came to be very useful in organizing our website.
What we learned
We learned new languages such as CSS, Html, and Javascript, and how they all relate to each other. It's like the positions of a soccer team; without a goalkeeper, the team is incomplete. Moreover, we learned to persist no matter what and whenever we fell down (metaphorically), we would pick each other right back up. We are in the beginner section.
What's next for Youth In Business Organization
We aim to gather more information about programs to add to our Initiative Map for states where we currently have fewer data.
