We created YouShare to solve a problem that we and the people we've talked to have in common. We always hated when people sent us videos telling us to skip certain parts or when the video was filled with useless information that we weren't interested in. That was our inspiration, to enhance productivity and efficiency in video sharing.

YouShare works by first pushing a set of timestamps to Firebase, then by displaying the information in a time chart of what people thought were most worth watching. From there, we improved the UI and made it friendly for people to use in everyday life

A huge challenge that we ran into was the workflow of our program and how the asynchronous methods and library load times interacted with each other. This made us get irregular errors and some malfunctions during the development process. By dividing our work effectively, we were able to solve these problems to work almost all the time.

We're most proud of how we found a common problem in our day to day lives then solved it while keeping users in mind. This resulted in the project that we have to show, which we believe to be user friendly, useful, and technically advanced. In addition, the way we integrated a number of different apis to work together even though each of our team members specialize in different areas a feat to be proud of.

YouShare has the potential of becoming the next social media, making use of the potential in videos and their messages as a new way to communicate. With our method of finding the most interesting parts of a video, any video can become as successful as a vine, a reddit post, or a snapchat by keeping people interested at all times.
