What it does

The carbon footprint calculator presents the client with a slew of user-friendly pages; easy to go through, and with a modern look. After signing up, the user may take a survey to find their carbon footprint. Our project will provide the user with other data, such as how they stand compared with the average person, how long the Earth would last if everyone was like them, and more. The user would then check-in for monthly surveys, tracking how they’ve changed every month. This would spread awareness about climate change, as well as help people who want to change.

How we built it

We loaded up another website for the survey on our project. We used VSCode to develop the project. We created the UI from scratch, which took a while.

Challenges we ran into

We'd say one of the hardest challenges was working together. This was the first hackathon for many of us, and we were still confused on what to do, what was going on, and how the project should be. Thankfully, we managed to put it together and do some of the project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating the interface of the website, as well as making the survey. We are proud that we were spending our team making something that could help people in their everyday lives, and in the grand scopes of things, the earth. Our project shows people the impact that their decisions have in their everyday life.

What we learned

We acquired some experience on how hackathons are like! We also learned how to work together best, communicate, and code.

What's next for YourCarboniteFootprint

YourCarboniteFootprint still has a lot of features to add! We want to add the option for weekly emails, improve the look of the website, and so much more. Our project is simple and scalable, and there's a lot of potential for it.

EXTRAS: We also worked with achintak#2339, and blaze#2331. They weren't online during the submission, so they couldn't join the DevPost team.
