Inspiration
During this pandemic, everyone has been overwhelmed with feelings of boredom. We wanted to put an end to that by keeping people busy with the help of our web app.
What it does
Your very own quarantine buddy allows the user to personalize the app. It keeps the user busy with fun stuff to do like watch a movie or play a game. The user also gets a wide selection of movies based on their genre of preference and can even connect to Spotify to listen to some nice music.
How I built it
We built the app mainly using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Challenges I ran into
Most of the team were new to web dev so the main challenge was learning languages like HTML, CSS, and JS and implementing them to build the web app.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The main accomplishment that we're proud of would be being able to make an interactive website the way we wanted.
What I learned
We all learned how interesting and fun web dev can be. Being able to learn the basics from scratch and then implement it makes us want to explore this area further.
What's next for Your Very Own Quarantine Buddy
We want to implement the Spotify API into the project and allow users to get a personalized selection of songs as well. We also want to implement a database that then allows us to implement a login system and store data of multiple users.
