Inspiration As someone who recently started participating in MUNs, I found the experience both exciting and overwhelming. Online MUNs, in particular, felt too competitive. While AI tools were available, they often gave direct answers without helping me truly understand the topic or think critically. I wanted to build something that would support beginners and experienced delegates alike by offering guidance without replacing independent thinking. A friend had recently created an AI debate tool, which further inspired me to build a platform for MUN preparation.
What it does YOUR ULTIMATE MUN GUIDE is a web-based tool that helps students prepare for MUNs. It allows users to choose their preferred level of preparation — simple, moderate, or intense — and provides tools to help with:
Understanding complex MUN topics
Drafting position papers
Generating sample motions
Suggesting country delegations
Practicing issues by committee
Creating resolution drafts in proper formats
Getting help from an AI-based MUN coach
The goal is to make MUN prep easier, smarter, and more personalized.
How we built it The entire project was built using Bolt, a no-code AI app builder. I used Bolt’s visual interface to create pages, design layouts, and connect buttons to AI-generated responses using prompt actions. Once the interface was ready, I hosted the project on Netlify, which allowed me to deploy the app and make it available publicly for free. I structured the app to be user-friendly, even for first-time MUN participants.
Challenges we ran into One of the main challenges was figuring out how to get AI working properly inside a website. Most frontend platforms don't allow direct calls to OpenAI's API, so I had to find ways to work with built-in AI features in Bolt or set up workaround logic. Another challenge was making sure all the buttons worked, connected to the right pages, and gave useful output. Learning how to host the website on Netlify and set up a clean domain was also new to me and required some trial and error.
Accomplishments that we're proud of I’m proud that I was able to go from idea to fully working MUN platform without needing to know how to code. I was able to:
Build a multi-page, AI-powered website
Create an interactive experience for users
Design a functional app that students can actually use to prepare for real MUNs
Turn my own struggles as a beginner into a helpful tool for others
What we learned Through this project, I learned:
How to build and deploy a website using no-code tools
How to design pages and user interfaces for clarity and ease
How to work with AI prompts effectively
That it's possible to create meaningful educational tools even without a technical background
What's next for YOUR ULTIMATE MUN GUIDE Next, I want to continue improving performance, expanding the set of tools, and making the site more intelligent. I plan to:
Add more accurate and detailed AI tools for specific committees
Include real-time topic suggestions and motion simulators
Add a resolution checker and formatter
Expand the delegation database to recommend countries based on current issues
Make the platform mobile responsive for easier access
This is just the beginning — the goal is to turn YOUR ULTIMATE MUN GUIDE into the go-to platform for all MUN delegates.
