The passion towards mountain biking and web development.
What it does
It is supposed to get the best trails suited to a user based on different parameters.
How we built it
We scraped data from an online website, getting biking trails from Alabama. Then we created a web app that asks a user for their preference and outputs the best recommendation.
Challenges we ran into
Getting the frontend and backend to share a lot of information (massive json files)
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Web scraping, learning node.js and improving on python and javascript.
What we learned
The importance of data storage frameworks like mongoDB and SQL.
What's next for Your Trail
Completion of the project, and addition of more trails across the globe, with a better recommendation system and Users being able to comment their experiences on various trails.
