Inspiration

I volunteered at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the world, working for an non-profit called Josh Cares. Every year, hundreds of kids stay at the hospital alone while undergoing long term medical treatment, and Josh Cares aimed to make them feel more comfortable when they were without family and friends. Drawing from this idea of making medical procedures less scary, I combined it with something I do every day: a COVID health screening. All kids now have to take a COVID health screening before any doctor's appointments, big or small. By designing the questionnaire with a cute character and simple wording, it would be less daunting for kids to fill out than the usual medical survey.

What it does

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

I've never coded before this semester - I've only taken half a semester of Python. So creating the right loop for the "yes" and "no" buttons was difficult, but I'm sure I could have figured it out if I just had a little more experience. Also getting the final text to show up on the graphics window instead of the IDLE shell.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It turned out really cute! It's not the health survey I started off to make, but I like it anyways. And a month ago I could have coded exactly none of this.
