Missed Connection : A Missed Connection is when two people briefly cross paths, feel a possible connection, but don't get the chance to talk further or exchange contact information.

Inspiration

I once had a brief interaction with a girl. We smiled at each other . I saw her on the beach again, but I wasn’t confident enough to talk to her. I didn’t know her name, who her friends were, or where she studied. It was a huge city, and I knew the chances of ever seeing her again were almost impossible unless destiny had something in store. But I wasn’t that lucky. I never saw her again.

Even now, that brief moment still lingers in my mind. I often wonder how two strangers could ever find each other again if they don’t know names, addresses, or any personal details. That question kept coming back to me, and eventually, it sparked this idea.

Back in 2012, I started imagining a platform where people could share those fleeting moments. If both felt something, maybe they could reconnect. I even had a name in mind(Hola)

That same year, Microsoft launched its app store and invited people to pitch new ideas. I shared my concept about helping people reconnect after a missed connection. There were no dating apps like Tinder or Bumble back then. They liked the idea.

But I didn’t know how to code.

For years, I carried the regret of not bringing this idea to life. The problem never went away. People still turn to Facebook groups and Reddit to share their missed connection stories. But when I saw the Bolt Hackathon prize category “Uniquely Useful Tool, a project that solves a real problem in a simple, effective way,” it clicked. This idea fits perfectly. It was finally time to build the tool I had always imagined.

Now, 15 years later, I’ve finally built the platform I once dreamed of. It’s a space where anyone can share their missed connection stories, post anonymous notes, and even get a real chance to reconnect with someone they crossed paths with. With the help of the Bolt platform, I was able to bring it to life.

I feel incredibly proud of myself. That weight I carried for so long is finally lifted. I’ve solved the problem I once left behind.

What it does

YouLookedAt.me is a space where anyone can share missed connection stories, post anonymous notes, and even get a real chance to reconnect with someone they briefly crossed paths with. Share your moment, and if someone posts a matching memory, you’re notified and can chat. Destiny Deserves a Second Chance

How we built it

Frontend & Backend: React (with optional Next.js) + TailwindCSS Database & Auth:Supabase (PostgreSQL + Auth + Realtime) AI Matching:Gemini AI Embeddings API + Supabase (JSONB) or Weaviate Hosting: Netlify (Frontend) + Supabase (Backend) Email Notifications: Resend + Supabase Edge Functions Design/UI: TailwindCSS Domain: entri.com

Challenges we ran into

I ran into so many challenges since this was my first time building something like this. Earlier, instead of solving the issue, I used to scrap the entire project and start over. But now, I’ve changed my approach. Whenever I face a challenge, I dive into the documentation, explore the files, and take the time to understand where each part fits. It took a while, but that process really helped me grow.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I spent 15 years wishing I could build this. Now I’ve coded it myself and brought it to life.solved a problem that’s been around forever.

What we learned

While working with no-code tools for the first time, I realized the importance of being prepared and clearly understanding my requirements. Crafting a Product Requirement Document doesn’t have to be perfect, but the core idea should always stay intact. One key thing I’ve learned is that it’s completely okay to get stuck, and when that happens, asking the community for help can make all the difference.
