Inspiration - My Dad's birthday was coming up, and I hate going to Target, wasting time sifting through the same birthday cards. So, with Veo 3 and the viral videos, we thought it would be a fun way to send birthday wished that people will remember.

What it does - A web app that generates 8 second custom birthday videos using AI. Users simply enter the persons name, age, and select from 1/5 themes [like Bigfoot vlog or Old Spice commercial. We run set prompts on the backend, so the user doesn't need to prompt engineer anything. Just wait 1-2 minutes, download, share, and throw away those paper birthday cards.

How we built it - Front end entirely through Bolt, then API to integrate Veo 3's video model. We hard prompted the different themes to get the best results for the user, and update with data they provide. Stripe handles our payments, and we designed the interface to look like a digital card.

Challenges we ran into - Access to advanced video generation models like Veo is still limited, so integrating Fal.AI and optimizing prompt outputs required iteration. Also getting the UI updates we wanted was challenging at time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of - Our parents are obsessed with their vibe cards and are sharing with their friends.

What we learned - We need to provide better prompts and references to improve our design efficiency.

What's next for Vibe Card - We're going to publish a live URL so our friends and family stop asking us directly to create a card for their friends. We're going to add more themes and styles for users to choose from. Build out the landing page and feature things like the "Wall of Fame," top created cards users can opt into on the site. Partner with creators and push UGC to get organic promotion and traffic.
