Why?

LGBT people of all ages and in all regions of the world suffer from violations of their human rights. They are physically attacked, kidnapped, raped and murdered. States often fail to adequately protect LGBT people from discriminatory treatment in the private sphere, including in the workplace, housing and healthcare. LGBT children and adolescents face bullying in school and may be thrown out of their homes by their parents, forced into psychiatric institutions or forced to marry. Due to which they cannot work, travel, open a bank account or access services. While we may not be able to do much as students,You2Me is just a small effort towards uplifting and helping these innocent people, lead a better life.

Key Features

Through a community especially for LGBTIQA+ people,we help them connect and interact with other people of a similar mindset, thereby eliminating any possibilities of homophobia or transphobia which might occur in situations otherwise. To promote equal opportunities to everyone,we have a 60% reservation for people from LGBTIQA+ in tech. Diversity & Inclusion can play an important role in generating ideas, team building and getting the maximum output, hence people from all walks of life are welcome here Finding like minded people who resonate with our passions is extremely important. Find such enthusiastic people is made easier through You2Me

What is special about this?

This initiative is the first of its kind for our LGBTQIA+ friends. As all of us know, there are various communities for everyone at large, but being solely focussed on the LGBTQIA+ people, this is a novelty.

What we learned?

As a team, we recalled how critical time management and organization are when planning, building, testing, writing, and recording for a project that has strict cut-off time such as this Hackathon. As the saying goes,

    "Teamwork makes the dream work."

Regardless of the challenges we faced, we came together and helped each other out,and were able to achieve a lot of firsts.
