You Barley Know Me!

Inspiration

The inspiration for our project is from various online personality experiences that were popularized in the early 2010s.

What it does

You Barley Know Me! is a fun online platform that allows the user to relate to multiple different gluten-based products. This project is full of hilarious bread-related jokes, and can serve as a community-building activity as well as repairing bonds between friends.

How we built it

We developed a custom algorithm to determine results based on a variety of holistic answers obtained via anonymous survey. Though the questions are typical of various online personality quizzes, the answers are original and baked by the developers exclusively for Hacktech. The various ASCII art was taken from various libraries or generated using open-source code.

Challenges we ran into

We wanted to avoid a bland product, only featuring text and numbers, so we added various types of ASCII art to make the product more enjoyable for our users!
