Inspiration

I noticed that my most productive friends and I kept asking the same questions: Where did my time go? What happened to my plan?

Most productivity tools help people make plans, but they do not help when those plans fall apart. Over time, they become digital cemeteries for tasks, filled with things we once intended to do but eventually lost track of.

I went through it all: Google Sheets with scripts, Notion, Monday, ClickUp, you name it.

Still, the bigger problem remained. We do not actually know where our time is going. Our plans fail and we forget to re-adapt. Sometimes, we don't even notice we are going astray!

Guess what? What we do not measure or track does not exist. If we do not understand how we spend our time, we have no real way to improve it. Yet the tools available today either lack this functionality or make it unnecessarily complicated.

That made me think about something simpler.

Remember when you were a kid and your mother would tell you to stop playing video games and start doing your homework because it was due tomorrow?

Back then, someone was paying attention. Someone noticed when you were distracted, reminded you what mattered, and helped you get back on track.

So where is Mom now, in our complicated adult lives?

She is back.

It is YoMaMa.

I wanted to build something that does more than store tasks. I wanted to build a system that actively guides the user throughout the day, keeps them aware of where their time is going, and helps them adapt when life does not go according to plan.

What it does

YoMaMa is an AI productivity suite that brings tasks, schedules, focus, and progress into one place. It plans the day, notices when things go off track, and helps the user adapt in real time.

How we built it

We combined task management, calendar planning, focus tools, daily reviews, and an AI coach into one connected system. The different parts share information so YoMaMa can understand what the user planned, what actually happened, and what should happen next.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was making the AI helpful without making it annoying. We also had to design a system that could adapt the schedule without taking control away from the user.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built more than another task manager. YoMaMa can understand the user’s day, identify problems, suggest changes, reschedule unfinished work, and help the user review their progress.

What we learned

We learned that people do not need more lists. They need help deciding what to do now, what can wait, and how to recover when the day does not go as planned.

What's next for YoMaMa

Next, we want YoMaMa to understand each user better, make smarter planning decisions, connect with more tools, and become a complete personal system for planning, focus, and daily execution.
