Inspiration

This story is not about monsters hiding. It's about an ancient pact where Yokai (spirits) and humans merged. Today, those spirits live on within us. The human behaviors we see every day—the businessman bowing on his phone, the man sitting on the curb—are modern manifestations, echoing the forms of the ancient spirits we carry.

How I built it

Based on my original human-written script, this music video was visualized using AI.

I used AI animation tools like Vidu and HailuoAI, and Midjourney to create the distinct visual style, blending anime characters with realistic Tokyo street scenes. The narrative is driven by the music (composed with Suno) and the subtle interactions between the characters, showing how the supernatural world co-exists with our own.

Challenges I faced

The main challenge was subtlety. I had to use AI to generate quiet, everyday scenes (like street crossings and train platforms) while maintaining specific character consistency (the boy and the girl). Expressing the "hidden" nature of the Yokai—as internal parts of humanity—to fit my story required a difficult creative balance.
