300 million Indians are eligible for government benefits they don't know exist.

While researching India's marginalized communities, we discovered a heartbreaking truth: families go hungry not because help doesn't exist, but because they simply don't know about it. ₹2,000 crores in welfare sits unclaimed annually while people struggle just kilometers away from government offices that could change their lives.

This isn't a poverty problem. It's an information problem.

Building YojanaConnect taught us that complex social problems don't always need complex solutions. Sometimes the biggest barrier is simply making existing resources accessible. We also discovered that modern AI tools can rapidly prototype solutions for underserved communities - turning social impact ideas into working applications in hours, not months.

💪 Challenges We Faced

The biggest challenge wasn't technical - it was scope.

With 400+ government schemes across central and state levels, deciding which 20 schemes would create maximum impact required deep research into India's welfare ecosystem. We also had to balance comprehensive information with extreme simplicity for users with limited digital literacy.

Technical challenge: Creating an eligibility algorithm that accurately matches user profiles to complex scheme criteria while remaining fast and offline-capable.
