About the Project
Inspiration
Millions of eligible citizens in India miss out on government welfare schemes because information is scattered across multiple websites, eligibility criteria are difficult to understand, and there is limited personalized guidance. We wanted to build a single AI-powered platform that makes discovering, understanding, and applying for government schemes simple, accessible, and inclusive for everyone.
What it does
YojanaAI is an AI-powered Government Scheme Eligibility & Citizen Support Platform that helps users:

How we built it
The platform is built using modern web technologies:
- React + Vite for the frontend
- Tailwind CSS for responsive UI
- Framer Motion for smooth animations
- Firebase Authentication for secure login
- Firestore Database for storing user data and scheme information
- Firebase Storage for documents
- TanStack Query for efficient data fetching
- Lucide React for modern icons
- Recharts for analytics and dashboards
Challenges we faced
- Designing an intuitive interface for users with different levels of digital literacy.
- Structuring information from numerous government schemes into a consistent format.
- Creating a scalable eligibility recommendation workflow.
- Supporting multilingual accessibility and voice-based interaction.
- Building a responsive, accessible, and modern user experience while maintaining performance.
What we learned
Through this project, we gained hands-on experience in AI-assisted recommendation systems, modern React development, Firebase integration, responsive UI/UX design, accessibility, and user-centered product development. We also learned the importance of simplifying complex government services through technology to improve digital inclusion.
