Inspiration
We've used many mental health apps and found that many people have difficulty integrating wellness activities into their daily lives. Many people already have other habits they are struggling to form (gym, sleep, etc.) that are prioritized beforehand and habits are increasingly difficult to form when your mental health is working against you.
We wanted to create something that integrates seamlessly into your life and allows you to constantly keep your mental health top of mind.
What it does
A Slack Application sends you messages on-demand for your mental goals (confidence, gratitude, etc.), based on the principles of NLP: re-programming your brain through constant reinforcements of new thought patterns. You and a practioner that you are working with(coach, therapist) can add messages to the Slackbot's repository. You can set intervals for the messages to be sent to you, request them on demand, and customize them to include different media types (GIF's, images, exercises, links, etc.)
How I built it
Used the Slack interface to create an application. Integrated with a Node.js server for the Slack App to make calls to, and sqlite database to store and update messages
