Inspiration

I was inspired by my experience with attending hackathons and gaming. Many times projects are very cool but similar and not fun enough to get traction on their own. In gaming you create these fun interactive spaces that bring people together but you have a problem where you go to be social but you have to go online at the same time. Combining the two I wanted to create a hub where the digital twins could exist all together in one place that is persistent and gets the benefits of all the twins being in one place in a fun format.

Once you have the data of all the users in one place and have the data from conversations, using this gigacontext you can build a omniscient host who knows about every person, every conversation, and everything that people are interested in.

What it does

Many times in hackathon events you don't have time to meet everyone you would want to. In in-person events maybe you would meet 10 maybe 20 people. Online events maybe not even 1. YNGO creates events spaces where users can be online for others to interact with and ask the host questions from how does the event work to who here has experience with AI, devops, and hackathons.

First it creates a digital twin of an event host that knows the background of the event and hosts a lobby Second every user can create their own profile join the lobby and ask the organizer questions Third the hosts learns about all of their attendees and becomes a source to get referrals about to about all the attendees

How we built it

We used Three.js and imported models using open source libraries. We worked on this in another 1-day hackathon to just build the event spaces. In this hackathon we built persistent user avatars as twins, and omniscient hosts with gigacontext of the data from event, all users, and chat data.

Challenges we ran into

There's a lot of backend work and architecture to make sure the data is saved correctly. There's also just a lot of new parts to build and it's easy to implement them incorrectly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It works and it's hosted and it has a real backend! Madison Ho will know everything about her attendees, long as they put their resumes up in the character profiles

What we learned

Build off of other open source repo and libraries to speed up development! 3d spaces are cool

What's next for YNGO - You Never Go Offline

It needs a lot of polish and better creator tools for making the event spaces, character avatars, and not using other people's IP. Better User experience. Mobile version
