đ YLab â First French Caribbean Afrocentric AI Lab
Built with đ for Africa, the Caribbean and their diaspora Powered by StackBlitz · Made with BOLT.build
đ Inspiration
YLab was born from a deep realization:
"Afro-descendants are too often absent from the tables of technological design."
As a Black woman with 28 years of experience in agility, change management, and digital transformation , I wanted to create a space where the Black diaspora is no longer just spectators of the digital revolution â but actors, creators, leaders .
This project aligns with my personal and professional mission:
To awaken Afro-light and reinvent our future through technology â this time, built by us, for us.

â ïž Challenges We Ran Into
Lack of representative data Most AI models are trained on non-inclusive datasets. We had to search for African, Creole, Haitian, and Caribbean sources. Inclusion vs. Cultural Appropriation How do we represent Afro cultures without falling into stereotypes? I worked with Perplexity and Claude Open AI to validate every idea for Agent and ensure authenticity. Time & Technical Limitations The BOLT.build hackathon imposed strict technical constraints. We used lightweight micro-AI agents running directly in the browser via WebContainers. Raising Awareness About Ethical AI Even within the Afro-descendant community, some doubted that "Afrocentric AI" could exist or be relevant. My motto? "Qui ne tente rien n'a rien!" I stayed resilient, determined, and passionate â proving it's not only possible, itâs necessary.

YLab : First French Caribbean Afrocentric AI Lab đ Inspiration: YLab est nĂ© dâun constat profond :
Technologies Utilisées : Front-end : React.js, Tailwind CSS Back-end : Node.js, Python, FastAPI IA : LangChain, Hugging Face, modÚles LLM open source Design UX/UI : Mon cerveau + Bolt New WebContainers Outils collaboratifs : GitHub, Discord, Slack
đ Accomplishments That Weâre Proud Of
đ Whatâs Next for YLab
