Inspiration
I'm making a calculator because I'm new to coding, and it seemed to be the easiest project.
What it does
It's a basic calculator. It does basic things like Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division. You know, basic things.
How I built it
I started with Java. Tried to use Netbeans and subsequently gave up on it. Then, I chose python to try Tkinter. Turned out to be confusing for a first-timer so left that too. Then, I thought, ok, there's a technical session tomorrow, I will follow along. And well, installing and setting up the IDE ended up being tricky. Landed on C, where I used recursive functions for the first time. So, if that counts for something, yay?
Challenges we ran into
Oops, I think I wrote challenges in the previous section, and since I'm running out of time to submit, I'll just leave it at that. Consider it a recursive function😛.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Need I repeat? Probably not Will I? Hell Yeah! I learned Recursive Functions baby!
What we learned
Following along with a live stream is hard if you can't pause the video.
What's next for Yet another Calculator
- More Operations
- Support for typing inputs with an operation (?)
- Support for more than 2 inputs
- A GUI? Maybe?
Built With
- c
- vscode
