What Inspired Us
One of the things that led to the inspiration of this project was many of the designs that are currently used in warehouses, especially the more compact drivetrains with maximum degrees of movement.
What it does
The robot is designed to move items into different storage units by reading the RFID tag and sorting them into the corresponding box. It is specifically designed to carry small bins or boxes that are 3-8 centimeters in size.
How we designed it
We were able to design it by using Fusion 360, obtaining models of core components such as the motors or Arduino through various websites, and creating sketches to produce core structural parts.
Challenges we ran into
One of the largest challenges we ran into was figuring out the right orientation for the drive base to sit on, and finding motors that would be an appropriate size to fit inside.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are incredibly proud of this project as it was our first times using Fusion 360 to any capacity, and we were able to apply everything that we had wanted to onto this robot.
What's next for Fork-lift bot?
Our next goal for the Fork-lift bot is to update it to more effective custom pieces, and to eventually make a mock of it in real life.
