Yelp user match and business recommendations

Yelp stars are partly a matter of personal taste, and our goal is to make use of that fact to find friends and discover businesses.

Friend suggestions

We look for users that gave similar number of stars to buisnesses that you also reviewed, we call them Yelp fellows. These are potential new friends.

Business suggestions

It doesn't end there! We then look at reviews of Yelp fellows to discover businesses that they rate above the Yelp average, and that you haven't reviewed. Since fellows have tastes similar to yours, these are personalized business suggestions.
