Inspiration
When attending a football match, the needs of the visitors differ: one wants a beer, another wants to go to the toilet and the third does not know his way around the stadium and is looking for his seat.
Create an app that considers not only the running distance but also the expected waiting time depending on the current load.
What it does
The web app asks the user to enter his seat number, then gives him directions to find his seat and then frmo there gives him directions to the food stands as well as wait times now and a forecast for a moment later.
How I built it
We created a serverless head less app with an API based on AWS Lambdas.
Challenges I ran into
Creating maps on which information might vary was very time consuming and not as easy as we thought at first. We ended up creating some maps manually in SVG format to later modify the content with the data from the backend.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
First of all we are very proud to say it actually works. We didn't loose too much time on stuff we didn't use in the end. Also we are very satisfied to have implemented all seats of the sector c, and this in a way that is scalabel to extend to all sectors with some leg work.
What I learned
We all learned a lot from each other and very quickly figured how to use the dynamics of the groups personalities and transform it into good mood and productivity
What's next for YB showtime
Augmented reality as we tried but didn't manage to get the result we wanted. Also an adaptation for sky resorts might be interesting.
