Inspiration
Our team was searching for new, fresh app ideas after our previous concepts didn’t work out. Then one of our teammates came across a TikTok video of a girl struggling to make a decision — and that moment sparked the idea for our app.
What it does
Our platform allows users to anonymously post personal dilemmas and receive simple YES/NO votes from the community to help them make decisions. Users can share text or images, select a category, set a voting timer, and view real-time voting results while remaining anonymous. We also provide automated moderation and reporting tools to maintain a safe environment and prevent the sharing of harmful or personal information.
How we built it
Our prototype was built using Lovable’s AI app and website builder, while our logo and presentation slides were designed in Canva.
Challenges we ran into
Initially, we tried using an app called Natively, but we ran into constant issues and errors caused by the platform. We ended up wasting an entire day, which was very stressful. On top of that, it was challenging for us to come up with a new idea.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud to have created an app we’ll all use and stand behind, and even prouder of the teamwork that brought it to life. This project has been both a meaningful achievement and a great team-building experience.
What we learned
We learned the basics of vibecoding, which tools to use, how to work effectively as a team, and how to stay productive under pressure and tight time limits. In the end, we also gained valuable experience in time management.
What's next for YayNay
We’re proud to have built an app we’ll genuinely use ourselves, and even more proud of the teamwork that made it possible. This project not only delivered a product we believe in, but also strengthened us as a team.
