Inspiration
Inspired by popular games like Wii Play Tanks and Tank Trouble, YASTanks! aims to provide the same lovable gameplay but with a more chaotic feel. (Also Yash)
What it does
YASTanks! is a tank game (I know, very creative) with an assortment of missions to complete. Use the power of physics to push, shoot and ricochet your way to victory.
How we built it
Our team used Unity, a versatile game engine, to create this project. Unity was a great choice, as it was a powerful tool that gave us the ability to greatly customize our game.
Challenges we ran into
When we started out on this project, we initially used plain C code with a graphics library for game logic. However, this proved to not be viable due to the limited ability of the language. Then, as mentioned earlier, we switched to the powerful Unity game engine, allowing us to expand the game to what it is now.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Unlike other games, YASTanks! uses a variety of trigonometric techniques to create realistic and smart AI. Enemies will employ ricochet tactics to kill you, so watch out!
What's next for YASTanks!
Depending on what people think of the game, we may add more game modes, levels, mechanics and enemies in the future. This includes:
- Multiplayer
- Bosses (Rocket Launchers, Snipers, etc.)
- Scrolling Levels
- And more!
