Inspiration

'Yaramura' is derived from a Yoruba phrase meaning ‘dress quickly,’ while also reflecting the idea of a dressing room.

The idea behind Yaramura is helping people dress better, faster, and more intentionally using the clothes they already own.

Yaramura was inspired by the reality that many people are judged by their appearance before they are ever heard. From job interviews to business meetings and social gatherings, how people present themselves can influence confidence, perception, and opportunities.

What it does

Yaramura is a smart digital dressing room that helps users: organize their wardrobe, search outfits easily, plan outfits for occasions, track clothing usage, and match colors and accessories confidently.

By reducing the stress of deciding what to wear, Yaramura helps users appear more presentable and prepared for everyday opportunities.

How we built it

We built Yaramura with simplicity and accessibility in mind. Instead of relying heavily on complex AI systems, we focused on creating a practical and user-friendly experience powered by wardrobe organization, outfit filtering, occasion-based suggestions, and fashion logic.

Our goal was to build a solution that solves a real everyday problem in a simple way.

We prompted the MEDO A.I gradually, feature by feature. First we uploaded an md file to specify the project. Then it generated a requirement.md file that we edited to meet our specification. After which we began to prompt feature by feature and also spot out bugs for it to fix, until we came to our desired behaviour.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was balancing ambition with practicality.

Initially, we envisioned several AI-powered features such as advanced outfit analysis and automated fashion recommendations. However, we realized that many of the core problems Yaramura aims to solve could already be addressed effectively through thoughtful design, wardrobe organization, and recommendation logic.

This led us to focus first on building a strong and useful foundation.

One challenge was the speed of feature changes. It took a little than we envisioned.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud that we were able to simplify fashion decision-making into a product that feels practical, relatable, and easy to use.

Yaramura transforms the everyday challenge of “What should I wear?” into a faster and more confident experience.

We are also proud to have shipped a working MVP that describes exactly what we envision.

What we learned

One of our biggest lessons was that impactful products do not always need overly complicated technology.

Sometimes, solving a real problem clearly and simply creates the most value. We also learned how deeply fashion, confidence, and opportunity are connected in everyday life.

We learned that with no code tools like MEDO, we can build and prototype anything without being a programmer. This drastically shortens the distance between ideation and execution for everyday people like us.

What's next for Yaramura

Our vision for Yaramura goes beyond wardrobe organization.

Future versions of the platform could include: AI-assisted outfit planning, personalized fashion recommendations, weather-aware styling, trend-based suggestions, and discovery of nearby fashion brands and stores.

We believe Yaramura has the potential to become a leading fashion-tech platform focused on confidence, convenience, and self-expression.
